About Dr. Ackerman


Dr. Ackerman is a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate to the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has been practicing psychiatry in Colorado for over 10 years. She graduated with honors from Dartmouth College with a B.S. in Biology and received her M.D. from Sackler School of Medicine in 2000.  

Upon finishing her residency, Dr. Ackerman practiced pediatrics in New York then Denver, ultimately returning to medical school to complete a second residency in psychiatry at the University of Colorado in Denver. There, she served as Chief Resident of Adult Psychiatry from 2010-2011. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Ackerman opened her private practice in Boulder. She has also worked extensively with veterans at the Boulder Veterans Center, with young adults at the AIM house in a transitional living program, and with patients at the Sutherland Center, a bipolar specialty clinic.  

Originally from New York, Dr. Ackerman is grateful and proud that she is able to play a vital role in the health of the Boulder community and raise her family in a place that promotes wellness and health.
